The Band celebrated its 25th
Anniversary on the 27th of October, 2012. This auspicious gathering,
also celebrating Derek's 60th birthday & Kim's silver wedding, saw
over a hundred dancers & audience crammed into Morpeth St James'
Hall. For the occasion the Border Directors fielded the original Blue
Moon Band line-up, with Peter Hawkey coming down from the distant north
lands of Scotland to add his flute; Claire Poxton joined in with her
fiddle for a good part of the night, and Elaine had a chance to take to
the floor while guest callers Megs, Paul and Brendan presided for some of the
dances.
