| Traditional music appeals to almost everybody, even to people who don’t know they like it… The Border Directors specialise in the traditional music and song of Northumberland and the Borders and have been playing together for over thirty years, providing barn dances, ceilidhs, concerts, weddings and birthday parties in barns, village halls, concert halls, hotels, marquees, castles and civic centres throughout the North East and the Scottish Borders. They have been know to roam beyond, too, from Fraserburgh to Sussex, from London’s Hurlingham Club to a convention of undertakers in Gosforth, not to mention a tour of Germany and France. The band line-up includes fiddles, accordion, Border pipes and electric bass, with occasional Northumbrian pipes, guitar or mandolin. The Border Directors provide an excellent PA system suitable for both large and small venues, and a first-class, experienced caller for dances and ceilidhs. |
