| The Border Directors came into existence in 1987 as the Blue Moon Band, over thirty years ago, emerging from the old regular Sunday sessions at the Joiners Arms in Morpeth. The original line-up comprised Kim, John, Derek Poxton, Matt and the demon flute player Peter Hawkey. The band ranged widely round the North East & produced the cassette album Barker’s Yarka, just in time for Peter to migrate to Peterhead (conveniently named after him) in the far northern lands of Scotland, though a couple of successful trips to perform at festivals around Fyvie and Fraserburgh followed. |
